Use a long nose camshaft in 59A motor?

Can an earlier long nose camshaft be used in a 59A block in a 1947 Ford? I am aware a spacer must be used for the distributor. Aside from that, does using this cam in the 59A motor create any other issues or differences? Thanks, Ford 1941

    41-48 Ford Wheels - Inside / back-side paint color?

Does anyone know the correct color to paint the inside / back side of 41-48 Ford 16" wheels. Obviously, the outside of the wheels is painted the same color as the body, with the correctly corresponding pinstripe colors, but are the insides body color too, or are they supposed to be black? The...

47 Ford woodie cowl side antenna - Correct?

This has been a great discussion. Thank you for all the input. As for the center roof antenna, this is actually the one I have on my 41 convertible (the car in my avatar). Fortunately, that was the correct antenna for that car, and it has survived its Dearborn judging. Now I just hope I can...

47 Ford woodie cowl side antenna - Correct?

After looking at page A-5 in my 41-48 Ford Book and reading about the 51A-18813-B antenna (which I should have done prior to starting this thread; my apologies), this antenna looks exactly like what I should have on my car, based on the location of my holes and some marks I saw on the original...

47 Ford woodie cowl side antenna - Correct?

Thank you very much for all the information. I do in fact own the 41-48 Ford book and have referred to it religiously throughout my restorations (of this car and my 41 convertible). However, it must have been too long since I read the appropriate section on antennas. I will certainly check it...

47 Ford woodie cowl side antenna - Correct?

My 47 Ford woodie station wagon that I'm restoring has what looks to be two factory original holes for mounting the radio antenna on the passenger side of the cowl. These holes are midway up the cowl and roughly 1" apart (see photo). Does anyone know if this is the correct original mounting...

Re-installing Main Bearing Cap studs in a 59A Block?

Can anyone tell me the proper way to re-install the main bearing cap studs in a 59A block? Should I use anti-seize, Loctite or thread sealant? Are the studs supposed to be tightened to a certain torque? Any other tips? Thanks

1947 Barcelona Blue modern paint match?

I am looking to repaint my 47 Ford Woodie in its original Barcelona Blue paint color, but am unable to find a match in a current Dupont or PPG paint. About a year ago, I was able to match the color to a valid DuPont Centari paint with code 54947A, but now my paint supplier says this color is no...

    Cadmium plater?

I am looking to potentially silver-cadmium plate some small to medium size parts for my 47 Ford and am wondering if anyone knows of a good cadmium plater that will work with relatively small orders. I am in the Chicago, IL area, but could obviously ship my parts as needed. Thanks, Scott

Wanted 41-48 Ford Woodie Wagon rear inner fenders/wheel wells

I am looking for a pair of rear inner fenders / wheel wells for my 1947 Ford woodie wagon project. I would be interested in new, NOS, or solid used ones. I am aware that there are some differences between these parts between the '41s and the '42-48s, but I would be willing to consider any from...
