    aligning a 48 hood

I am looking for tips. The closest I have been able to get mine is a 1/2" gap. Have new hinges and support arms. I am aiming for a 1/8" gap but would be happy with a 1/4". All suggestions will be much appreciated.

In the 50's I replaced my flathead with an Olds Rocket 98. 6 volts had trouble turning it over. I added a second 6 volt which I connected between the solenoid and the starter. Stenny: I think you are correct. I forgot about Monarchs as they have been gone for years. My merc will have a Monarch ring which will be a topic of conversation.
