    1935 Tudor Springs

Hi Tim, There used to be a definitive method, we had measurement and data books listing various manufacturers and the springs they used and the setting specs. Those books would all be gone now. The effectiveness of a spring is based on many things, the temper is the least important as the...

Jerry Grayson Jonesborough, GA passes away

I'm saddened to hear your news Lawson. RIP Jerry. We tried hard to get the EFV8C to continue on with the 35/36 Pickup you both worked on, shame our efforts fell on deaf ears.

    Deluxe vs Standard 38 Fenders

If you want a Deluxe front clip on a Standard you need a new Firewall as well, the Deluxe front guards are a different shape where they bolt on.

Post war replacement blocks for 81a

Yes it is the replacement block but it doesn't have the 59A letters on it. I heard that some US made replacement blocks were designated 41A. But this one would have come from Canada as a Commonwealth countries export.

Post war replacement blocks for 81a

Will these blocks go out for 239? If so it has real potential. There is no rust on this block. As I understand it this was a truck application, hence the factory relieving. I was thinking the only use for this block was if someone wanted to fit a Supercharger. The question then becomes how far...

Post war replacement blocks for 81a

It would be so easy if this block did have sleeves but it doesn't. Someone may put there hand up for it.

Post war replacement blocks for 81a

Hi guys, It's been awhile since I last logged on... I have a post war replacement block for an 81a motor that has a 3/16th bore and is also factory relieved. My question is, how far can these be bored out. One cylinder has a nasty gouge (about 50 thou) from a gudgeon (wrist) pin circlip coming...

    Carb Riser Questions

x2 BITD young guys would go the 'bolt-on' route to get a little more power. Higher comp. heads, exhaust headers with dual exhaust and an inlet manifold with two or three carbs. And it worked. How much is debatable but power and performance were noticeably improved. Another benefit to dual...

New Book From H&H on Rebuilding Flathead Engines

Yes. And the best way to reward writers is to buy the books directly through them and not though discount sellers. A buyer might save a few lousy bucks buying through sites like Amazon, but those few lousy bucks keep adding up and at the end of the day the writers are disadvantaged. Who can them...
