Thanks cadillac,got the new starter installed today. youre right the new starter is better than the discontinued "vintage torque"so called hi torque. hope the new one lasts longer tha the 3yr old vintage. Tom.

i guess no one wants to help. the '51 was allready totally rewired and converted to 12volt. i feel persecuted. on the barn i have allways tried to help if i could. powermaster i believe is the only manufacturer that builds a n12volt starter for flatheads.

im having the failed 3yr old discontinued vintage model powermaster replaced by an updated powermaster 9507 model starter. Any tips would be appreciated. thanks,Tom.

Looks like you have the same Mr. Gasket air cleaner that i have on my '51.the research i had done said was perfect size for the 239. also looks good. Tom.

I agree,i just have a hard time having a shop work on my classic cars for somthing that i possibly can accomplish.besides there arent any that want to even work on any vehicles older than the 80s especially if that car does not have a OBD port. Tom.

finally found the vacuum hose hiding behind a crusty dried up firewall grommet. pulled the correct length out and hooked up to the intake vac. port and wipers do work! ive had the '51 for about 6 months now and was scratching my head because there was a couple parts boxed up in trunk an old...

The compression fitting that Steve51 showed that he got from ace hw may be what i purchased from O'Reilly's. part #CF1B.should only have to actually use a portion of this part.
