    Gas gauge/generator issue 1947

Thank you all. Though I had the same idea, I had nothing to back it up. I will see my rebuilder Monday and put it in his lap. I will ask him to test it. Can the voltage regulator be adjusted to reduce the charging rate?

    Gas gauge/generator issue 1947

This is a strange one. I had my generator rebuilt using a re manufactured armature and NOS or NORS field coils. Now it charges well BUT I noticed when I am at higher speeds the gas gauge shows more gas than I know I have in the tank. When I slow down the gauge needle falls back down to the...

    Radiator car repair kit

Thanks for all of your comments and suggestions. I found 3-4 Everseal R-! caps for sale on eBay ranging from $16. to $39. The caps look good, except for no bail and a perimeter embossment. But my friend who owns this '35 isn't that fussy. I'm doing my best to keep him as close to OEM as I...

    Radiator car repair kit

That is great info. The rad. cap on this '35 has a brass rivet, but who know if it has been repaired. I will check out the Everseal R-1 and the Drake cap. This is for my friend's car and I think the replacement was $50. but every supplier he checked was out of stock. Thanks for the help.

    Radiator car repair kit

Sorry, should be radiator cap, NOT gas cap. My mistake. Also realize the kit I have is not for a '35. Probably why I can't figure out how it would work. Thanks for all the comments. Will have to look at what Bob Drake carries and try that.

    Radiator car repair kit

I bought the repair kit for a 1935 gas cap. It did not come with instructions and I can only guess as to how it's used. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks

    Wood header replacement 1930 fordor

I need to replace the front header in my friend's '30 town sedan. Windshield is out, visor is off. The header pan is still in place. I think it is only tack welded on each end but not completely sure. I need a way to take that out so I can take the wood out. If anyone has experience with this...

    A hopeful solution to a '47 problem

Thanks again for these last comments. I have documented about 13 different attempts along the way. First carb rebuild, new gas tank and fuel pump and blowing out the gas line occurred way in the beginning and resulted in a smooth running car...for a while. I also installed a see through in...

    A hopeful solution to a '47 problem

Thanks for those comments that were meant to be helpful. I had replaced the ballast resistor until changing over to a modern coil that included an internal ballast resistor. This did not change the problem. After the first rebuilt of the original carb the car drove very well on the back roads...

    A hopeful solution to a '47 problem

Adapter fitting? Not sure that was me. Mine is total stock and I have not posted any of the car's issues on anything but Fordbarn.

    A hopeful solution to a '47 problem

Hi All. Over the last 2 and 1/2 years I have been chasing a problem with my '47. I have highlighted the issues and asked for 'help' from you all. I have received lots of good suggestions and followed through on many of them. The basic issue was the car would start and run on a slow or fast...

Skip's tel number is no longer working. Has he changed it or retired? Anyone know for sure as I am trying to reach him about rebuilding a '35 coil. Thanks. David

    Model 94 carb issue

Thanks for the comments. I had also had read that the resizing is probably the reason for the difference.

    Model 94 carb issue

Seems like I just solved my issue. The Ford carb needs an adapter fitting between the fuel line and carb, and the does not on the Holley carb as the Ford nut on the end of the fuel line threads in directly.
