It did overheat on me last time I drove it and I added antifreeze to it before it completely cooled-- I know stupid move! Model A still wont start

Thanks to everyone that helped me with their model A advice. Had 2 problems -- how hell does that happen driving down road?? Anyway generator was the short problem or the wires to back of it were grounding out-- got that fixed -- then traced everything to points which I had power all way to...

I'm sure this would be a lot easier for you all if I understood electrical better!! Have always hated electrical and avoided it as much as possible.

How do I find out if wire is grounding out inside armored cable. I only have small window of time to work on it after work so that's why it's next day before I am able to complete some of ideas you guy have. If i unscrew the armored cable from the distributer should I check for voltage there. I...

I ckd wire that run from bottom to top plate-- points were open and I ckd on moveable side I also put piece paper in between points just to make sure the readings were pretty low or barely reading but if I moved it around I could get it to 1.2.-- now the car quit as I was driving it-- I took it...

And just to verify I turned key on and turned car over and no spark. Also pulled plug and tried with points all back together and no spark. I unplugged where coil wire comes in distributer cap and I have 6+ volts there??

Ok so I went through and did what Terry said.,with keyboff I have 6+ volts both sides of the coil. Than with key on at the points it will read anywhere up to about 1.2 but that's it. I have 6+ volts at fuse as well as at generator.

Ok I know about pop out ignition -- it doesn't have one.

It is not the pop out type ignition switch and I found the pop out switch under floorboard next to brake rod--it moves in and out freely??

    Model A still wont start

The pop out switch you guys are talking about is the brake one correct?? Any way to test it or take it out of equation. Also car turns over great but charged battery overnight and it pegged out when hooked up but only charged about 1/2 way in 12 hrs. Battery is only 6 months old??

Continuation from last week-- I took generatorvand cut out switch of my other running model A and still won't start. However it is not blowing the fuse now. I have power both sides back ammeter, power both side terminal box, power at generator. I am one man show so having hard time telling if im...

Model A quit while driving -- won't start

I actually just completed a complete brake job adjustment on it -- adjusting all the rods one by one and adjusting brake shoes to match rod adjustments -- the brakes actually would almost go to the floor before the adjustment and now only goes down about 2 inches before solid brakes but possibly...
