    Plastic Fuel Filters

I purchased an AA truck this past summer. The fuel tank looks good inside, but there was so much really fine rust in there that the float valve of the carb stuck open, flooding the carb. Usually multiple times a drive. If there was a competition for how fast one could take off and clean a carb...

    U-joint by Drake

I have one in my A. It installed without issue and I have a couple thousand miles on it so far. No problems at all.

    Burtz vibrations

I have been down this road myself. Let me preface all this by saying that I really enjoy my burtz engine. I've built two, and I would recommend one to anyone. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another for myself if I had need. My car is a 31 slant window. It has a burtz engine with a burtz cam...

    "A" won't start

Check your manifold bolts. You may have a vacuum leak on your intake. It would have run fine when warm, and then as it cooled the gap would open. This would make it not want to suck the gas into the cylinders. This happened to mine a few weeks ago, so is something worth checking.

    Tires

I remain very happy with these. I've put several hundred miles on them, driving in hot weather and pouring rain. Traction has always been great. The ride is good and they handle great. Wear seems to be minimal. At this point, I would not hesitate to buy another set when these finally wear out...

    Tires

Here is a link to the tires: Bridgestone Blizzak Tires. If you go to the site and look at the specs, they specifically fit a rim width of 4-5". I would have liked a little bit more sidewall. But again, the price decided it for me. When on the car with 40 lb. of pressure they are 27" tall...

    Tires

They are a 155/70R19. Nothing special to the mounting process. My rims have a bit of pitting - I cleaned them up with a wire brush and painted with rustoleum. I sprayed a bit of WD40 around the bead of the tire and they went on easy. I threw a pack of balancing beads into each tire as well. I...

    Tires

They fit and the overall diameter is acceptable. But I did not like mine. I bought 2 new ones to go on my slant window. They seemed like a decent tire when they came. I put them on the rear. I had 2 old but decent shape Demin brand tires on the front. When I drove the car myself with no...

    Squeal that I can’t pinpoint

Re: Squeal that I can’t pinpoint Is the crankshaft pulley new? I recently had an issue where a new crankshaft pulley was rubbing on the front engine mount. This happened twice, both new crankshaft pullies. Once with a 29 phaeton and once with a 31 slant window. Look closely, as it was only...

    Peep mirrors

I did have to drill to make them fit the A. But I use mine as a daily driver, so the trade was worth it to me to be able to have mirrors I could actually see with. And I figured I'd patched enough other holes throughout the body to compensate for the ones I added. :D ~Ernie

    Peep mirrors

I ordered jeep mirrors off Amazon. "LIBERRWAY Door Off Mirror Compatible with Jeep Wrangler TJ JK 4x4 Off-road Morror Rectangular Mirrors Quick Release Side View Mirror, right position, 2 Pack" item B07J1VX6Z6 Sorry I don't have the post count yet to link directly or post pictures. I also...

    Downhill, Deceleration Vibration

After enough people recommended the float-a-motor mounts, I decided to give them a try and ordered a steel set from Bratton's. The difference is AMAZING. I'd say the vibration is 95% improved. I really think that in my case at least, the vibration wasn't anything specifically wrong. I feel the...

    Downhill, Deceleration Vibration

Sorry to be slow to respond, my mother had to be admitted to the hospital and life is full at the moment. Everything in the front seems seated properly. On the suggestion of others, I loosened the bolts of the rear motor mounts. I think that helped some, but wasn't a complete solution. Rear...

    Downhill, Deceleration Vibration

I appreciate your detailed response, but the pinion gear nuts are indeed tight. The vibration was there before I installed the new mitchell as well. The nuts were tight when I took everything apart to install the mitchell. My original washer was still usable, so I put it back on when I installed...

    Downhill, Deceleration Vibration

Hi all, My 31 slant window sedan has a strong vibration when holding back downhill. It does not do this at any rpm speed when on level nor when pulling uphill. It only does it when holding back going downhill, starting at about 1800 rpm and becoming quite bad by 2000 rpm. Transmission gear...
