To upset the threads I have had good luck with using a vice grip grabbing teeth adjusted until the thread is just scored to give some good resistance keeping anything from backing out.
My Grandpa who lived near Lyndon Washington in the early 1900s told me about two gas stations that had a price war between them. They both got down to 9 cents a gallon. One of them got so upset that he went out and turned his price sign upside down. Yep, 6 cents a gallon.
My Dad bought his 1930 pickup being used as a prop from the front of a gas station plastered with Flying A gas stickers . That was 1956 and he paid $55 for it in not running condition. I was 5 years old at the time and remember sitting next to my grandpa as Dad towed it home using a rope. My...
Yep good old Ford Parts Obsolete. As a kid with a Model A. I was visiting Joe for some parts when a man walked in with a 32 radiator shell and asked Joe if he would give him $20 for it. Joe said no thanks and that he had a over supply at that time. That happened right after they had moved from...

After over 50 years of owning both restored and hot rod Model A's I am building a 30 coupe with a 81 Buick v6 backed by a Chevrolet S 10 five speed transmission and a Ford Maverick 8 inch third member. While not for everyone I am having a ball being challenged by the build and hope to end up...
I have a new to me 34 five window survivor coupe.
