    Fan Shroud helpful?

To answer the ?, Ford may have dropped the shrouds to save money. So little experience noted unless Murray Fahnstock wrote about it during the era. The engine pans may be more benefit for air flow and grounding.

    45B Top Moulding substitute thinktank?

Go to MC Master- Carr, Orange Aluminum or Extruda trim and select a molding to match original as close as possible. Make a jig and heat the material to help push it around the corners while trying to maintain the flattened profile or make a bender as shown. We've used stainless steel nails to...

Do I have a high compression head?

Get a borescope to look inside or perhaps measure the spark plug threads as a start. Deeper threads than stock (5/8") can sometimes indicate a higher compression head.

This is interesting. The new Marvel Schebler replacement (tractor) carburetors are inexpensive. I wonder if they would work on an A ?

    A bad omen.....

Regional demographics appear to play a role .Urban areas aren't always friendly to classic cars, concerns about pollution whether unfounded or not, lack of basic mechanical skills training in schools, fear of breakdowns, get in and go mentality without spending time and energy (not money) for...

    Tight Steering

Actually one can measure the springs, usually 1", and when they are installed and resistance is felt with slotted end plug, screw in the plug visually about 1/4" or so as stated above. The slot usually lines up with the cotter holes or close to them.

LED taillight problem - Hello, electrical experts!!!

For some unknown reason, tried 2 electronic flashers on 12 volt system and they didn't function properly. Went back to conventional 50 year old USA flasher and all worked. Rear LED's, front incandescent bulbs, no resistors added..

LED taillight problem - Hello, electrical experts!!!

Our rear LEDs are not separated top and bottom, brake light on is the whole assembly. We did need ballast resistors for each side (6v) for turn signals but not with a 12 volt car. As stated, check the ground at the fenders, or if your set has a separate black ground wire which ours did.

Shimming the cowl section on a 1930 TS

It may be helpful to purchase or borrow the green book by Les Andrews which has the dimensions for the hood / rad shell to cowl, etc. As stated above, our experience was to start with the radiator which can slide around some at the base and adjusted with the rods to tilt the top. It has to be...

AA bell housing to frame original mounts

Thank you all for the responses. Just thought to check the '32 Parts Price List and the stock passenger mounts appear to fit both fly housings. The Canadian motor mounts are different styles from USA but the dimensions appear to be the same.

Late 1930 and 1931 Pickup radiator shell

I've seen a factory photo of wide bed with painted black '30 shell and no paint on hole cover. The Logo emblem appears to be for '31 models, not the blue enameled '30 style.

    Door Alignment Help

If the frame is not straight, etc., alignment can be tricky. Usually starting at the hood / radiator shell and working rearwards may fix most issues. Possibly the door hinges need to be bent and/ or by carefully placing blocks between the hinge leaves while closing, etc. and being careful not...

Driver’s Door Mechanism and Window - Slant

Re: Driver’s Door Mechanism and Window - Slant It's been some years but found it easier to grind off and remove the rivet holding the window raising arm to the bedding channel and replacing with a pan head machine screw/nut and locktite, etc. Also remove the lock jamb felt runner which may have...
