Edelbrock head and gasket problem - over heat

Glennpm - Ronnieroadster- and other knowledgeable folks: The CRC Gasket Remover works GREAT. Spray it on. wait 20 minutes or so, and then "go at it" with a cupped wire brush and a drill motor. I keep a bottle of the Moroso crack sealer and it works well. Head went on easily and torqued as...

Edelbrock head and gasket problem - over heat

Thanks to everybody for the info. I opened up the valve galley and it was full of an oil and water mix. This scares me. Do I have a cracked block? I matched up the head gasket with a new one. Seems like the one on the engine was for a big bore; the new one is somewhat smaller and fits better...

Edelbrock head and gasket problem - over heat

Pulled the head from my engine after an overheat problem. In the lower right side there is a cut-out in the head and block for water circulation. However, my head gasket has 5/16" hole even though the gasket has the die-cut imprint for the complete opening in the head and block. It was clear...

Sad News...Fatal Model A Accident in CT

I love driving my Model A - it is therapy for me. I remember, as a child, being at peace when my parents and grandparents would take long rides on Sunday afternoons after church. I need this peace in my life after many years working in Washington, D.C. May the angles and saints great his soul.

For Sale Gordon Smith Air Compressor

1945 Gordon Smith Air Compressor on a tow-able trailer with new tires. I wanted to use this compressor for portable sandblasting as did the previous owner. He rebuilt the engine; babbit bearings, pistons and rings. Running well and pumping air. I scraped the idea of doing portable sandblasting...

    Stromberg 97 fuel smell

I have two of the new 97's ($125 ea) and they work great. When you get them you must disassemble them and re-establish float level and tightness. Make sure the float level is 1/16" from the top and actually shuts off the fuel. Re-tighten and check for leaks with acetone. Set idle screws at 1.5...

Model A Spark Plug Heat Range Table

The spark plug thread on a Model A is really a 22mm metric thread, HOWEVER, a 7/8" x 18 tap works as well. I use a 22mm tap; the 7/8" tap is a little tight. I clean up the threads with a 22mm and I use 3076 plugs for driving.

The first question to ask is NOT how fast will it go but rather How Good Are The Brakes?
