Thanks V8 Bob The pan that was on the motor looks like photo 26 on the left (Ford ) the pan I bought looks like photo 28 (Merc) so maybe I bought a Ford not Merc. How can I tell without going in the motor? Will the pans interchange?
I am trying to install a 53 merc motor in a 35 pu frame using Pete and Jakes 34 front end with vega cross steering. the original merc motor had a center sump pan and it interfered with the tie rod and steering arm. I have purchased a rear sump pan here on the Ford Barn but it will not clear...
I have converted my 53 merc engine to 12 volt positive ground. I have been told that Runtz gauge voltage regulators are designed for positive ground applications only. how do I reduce the voltage down to 6 volts on the gauges? I converted to 12 volts in order to use an alternator and Mallory...
Thanks. It seems like I remember something about having to remove that connection. the guy I bought them from sent me 2 - one for each gauge that required electric. Nothing like the original Henry stuff. steve
I am using the original 6 volt gauges in my 35 pu. they are in perfect condition and I did not have to cut the dash. I am running a 12 volt system. I have 2 runtzs to reduce the 12 volt to 6 volt. where do you wire the runtz at the gauge? any sugestions? thanks steve
I need a set of 35 pu original gauges. also, can these gauges be adapted to 12 volt. what about the senders for fuel and oil. I cant find any of the modern gauges that I like. thanks steve
