On my dads 51 ford 8BA flathead engine there are 2 holes in the back of the block one has a line running to the oil filter which is fine the other has a fitting with a reducer then the oil pressure gauge line comes out of it and goes to the gauge. Well I want to try and find a threaded fitting...

I'm sorry the Speedometer end,oval speedo.The trip meter spins and it seems free but that part that the cable goes into just doesnt want to.

I discovered my speedo cable was broke, bought a new one and when I went to install it I discovered the part the cable inserts into doesnt spin. I got it to free up a bit and then it siezed up again. Is this a do it yourself fix or do you mail it to someone.....Thanks....Dave

Oh my gosh I feell like a ding dong. Guess I never noticed it befor. My richual was hook up the battery turn the ignition to on and hit the starter switch and turning it off I just turned the key off.Guess I never tried cranking it with the key off.Thanks guys :)

Thankyou Don I'll have to check my shelves and see if I still have them/what kind of shape their in. When I took them off I didnt pay much attention to them do to I had seen them in books and wasnt planning on keeping them. I hope I still have them and they are in good shap. If not I'll have to...

I saw this older post I'm also in the process of doing this now and I now see the void you guys are talking about.I dont think there is a good way to fix this other then a premaid window seal with extra rubber in the corners.Or a really close match and fill it in.

WoW!!! Grind or machine that channel off that sounds like a major pain.Yah mine is a 4dr Murray. I may have to see if i can find my origonal stuff. I dont think I threw it away it has to be lying around my garage somewhere :) I allmost think it would be easier to clean up the old stuff then try...

Hi I just finished installing my long grain vinyl roof on my 30 4dr sedan. I ordered the aluminum molding that is used to hide the tacks and I noticed there is a bump out/small channel that sticks out on the underside that goes against the vinyl.Isnt that going to keep the molding from sitting...
