Will the blocks be stamped with an engine number or is there a blank area where this can be done? Would there be an extra charge to do this to the customer's spec before the block gets shipped so that the car's "VIN" registration would still match?
Thanks
Dave
I need to purchase a set of Goodyear WW 475/19 diamond thread tires including two for front fender-wells. Should I order them from Universal Vintage Tire or Kelsey Tire? Is Bratton's still the best source for the inner tubes?
Thanks
Dave
If I disconnect all radiator hoses/pipe from the engine and allow all the coolant to drain out normally, how much if any water will still be in the engine head or block and would this amount be enough to cause freeze damage over the winter? I will not be able to reassemble the radiator and hoses...
I'm not sure if this question ever got answered. Are there any clear pictures or documentation showing how the keys are installed? Does the taper point towards the axle end or towards the brake backing plate? Is the taper facing down towards the axle or away from the axle?
Thanks
Dave
Has anyone ever noticed if there was any difference in quality, craftsmanship, precision, etc. of the wood body blocks sold by the Model A vendors? Is it worth it to pay a little extra for the blocks from one vendor over another? Or are they basically all made by one source (perhaps overseas)...
A's & More was a good suggestion but unfortunately they are in the process of replacing their hydraulic press they use for this type of operation so they would not be able to do it soon enough. Randy Gross and Steve at Bert's have both offered to do it for me so unless anyone else has any...
I have a relatively new cast iron rear brake drum and attached hub that has a single wheel bolt that I can feel (by hand) is loose, but does not turn (yet). Who in the southern New England (preferably in CT) area has the necessary equipment and know-how to remove the old bolt and swage a new...
Isaiah, I was wondering if you went ahead and installed this housing and if so what your experience has been. If anyone else is using this type of thermostat housing I would interested in your experience as well.
Thanks in advance

I thought the radiator shell in my car was an original U.S. version but I can't be certain of this. If the Canadian shells had conduit holes that were about 1" to 1 1/4" lower then the U.S. version then this could explain what is going on.
If anyone has a USA 1931 original shell could you...
Thanks Bob. I took a look at post #4 and my SG is definitely not 30 1/2" long as shown in Mac's catalog, it is closer to 30 3/4" which would correspond to the 1930 SG. The vendor did sent me a 1930 SG to compare and the top oval cutout was about 1/2" too high compared to where the Ford emblem is...
The bottom hole lines up almost exactly but the oval opening at the top of the stone guard is about a 1/4" too high relative to the Ford emblem, but I could probably move the Ford emblem up to match, so my main concern is the side attachment tabs which are way too high.
So Barnstuf, what did...
I purchased a new stone guard for my 1931 and the side brackets are at least 1" higher then the headlight conduit grommets, shouldn't they be even with the grommets? Has anyone else run into this problem? Are the grommet holes in the radiator shell higher in the 1930 shells or are they the same...
