    replaced my broken fan

I'm not sure what you want to see. I converted from the old oiled fan hub to a sealed bearing one based on one built by another member here that uses the original mounting bracket. You would need access to a lathe and welder to build one. Bob Drake sells such a fan hub. It sure beats having to...

    replaced my broken fan

About three weeks ago a blade came off the fan in my pickup. The blade did some damage i.e. destroyed the inner and outer distributer caps, the rotor, broke a small piece off the intake manifold and bent the sealed bearing fan hub shaft. Thank goodness there was no hood or radiator damage. Not...

    replacement fan blade

I talked with Speedway, their tech person and AFCO. AFCO is owned by Speedway and that is who supplies their fan blades. So far no luck. I need some more dimensions for a couple of their fans before I order something I'll have to modify. AFCO is supposed to call me with the information I need...

    46 V8 Carburetor

Your 46, most likely, originally came with a Holly 94 two barrel. They're easy to find and work on. Even I can do it. In the past it was popular to replace them with a Stromberg 97? There are plenty of members in Washington perhaps one of them can take a look and help you.

    replacement fan blade

Has anyone found a readily available blade for the 42-48 four blade fan? Mine shed a blade Thursday taking the cap off the front mounted distributor and doing some other minor damage. Needles to say motive action ceased immediately. Speedway has a universal six blade that looks promising. I...

A bomb hoist for the rear bumper

Good find! Back in the 60's and early 70's I did service work for a local propane company. Every service truck had one of the bomb hoists to load heavy items. More than once I've wished I had bought one when they were available.

    PSI for block testing

A friend gave me the basic motor I have in my truck because a guy that was going to buy it pressure tested it at 165 psi and blew a pea sized hole on the #5 intake valve-guide pocket. The fellow brought the motor back and told my friend what he had done. My friend was so mad he rolled the motor...

    1948 Ford Fan Hub Oil

I tried grease, it didn't work. I finally made up a sealed bearing unit for mine and love it.

    A Plea for Safety

Marcus; Hope you heal quickly without complications. My Doctor absolutely forbids me getting on the roof or even on a step ladder and my wife enforces that mandate. Probably good advice but it makes me feel OLD. I suspect most of the members here are about my vintage. I'm 76, or as I like to...

New member, new owner, 1941 pickup with driveability issues

504d; Welcome to the best, most interesting and helpful Ford site. Since you did not post your location it is difficult for others that may be close by to help you with your truck. Again, welcome and good luck with your truck.
