When I start, I have about half the pedal travel for free play. New return spring last year.

A few times now I have taken my '49 F1 for a ride and the brakes were fine out of a cool garage but as things warm up, the brake system pressurizes so much that the brake switch is activated and the brakes drag. I have loosened the brakes twice and it still does it. This is a totally stock setup...

I used an air chisel with drift point. Protect your door if you like your paint.

Thanks John, I'm exploring options for that '33 pickup. I have it all blown apart. Still need to disassemble the rearend to see what kind of shape it's in after I borrow a spring spreader and hub puller... 3 speed trans looks good internally. Wondering how everything will hold up to that hot...

Sounds like it from above. If it has a spare tire well, it might be bigger to accommodate the bigger truck tire.

It is aluminum. I don't see a spacer between cover and distributor

is there a good online source for info on setting up and installing a helmet distributor? Have a 59A that i would like to fire and it has has a Helmet for some reason :confused: i have no experience with that hunk of iron.

I know. That may change. The mechanical brakes are actually working on this thing now though. haven't pulled the drums yet.
