My bet is its fuel,when you get up around 2000rpm introduce a little more fuel down the carb and see if that makes any difference.you have received lots of good advice (lots of good advice on here ) but it's nearly always the simple thing that causes the biggest problem.

I intend to fit a Riley two port to my banger motor,can I use bolts instead of studs,it's proving to be a nightmare trying to get the correct studs here in Australia.Would love to hear from anyone who has used the bolts with any sort of success.what do you guy's think. Thanks Ken in OZ

If you use the stick method,how much fuel is left in the tank when it stops feeding the carb

I think new cars still have mechanical brakes,that's why they stop so well
