Exactly what my 29 RPU does when the crummy condenser in my New Rex distributor fails, which is quite frequent.

    What would Henry think?

After replacing the entire windshield and frame on my 29 RPU, I really didn't want to use the clamp on original style rear view mirror because it continually scratches the frame and affects the soft top fit somewhat. So I came up with what you see in the photo, my old iPhone 4 mounted to the...

    Missing Suddenly

Re: Missing Suddenly - Fixed! Condenser Again!!!! The one on the left came with the modern kit and lasted 100 miles, the one on the right only lasted 20 miles! So now I have installed the third, also from Snyders. Thinking about buying a good quality Mallory condenser maybe. I guess I will...

    Missing Suddenly

My mechanic put a rebuilt distributor in last winter that has the modern top plate. The timing was too retarded so I moved it up to 0 with lever up and about 28 with lever advanced. I did about 100 perfect miles that way and then last week noticed a miss while going up hill. It became worse...

    29 Roadster Pickup Windshield Question

Can somebody tell me why my 29 Roadster Pickup windshield swings open but has no provision to prop it up. I understand that 30/31's have a lower arm to accomplish this. Has anyone come up with a better solution than a rubber ball? It would be nice on hot days.

    Spring time overheating

Fixed!!! Changed radiator to a Brassworks pressurized unit and all is well. Running about 140 after ten mile run. It was a combination of timing and a clogged radiator. The old one only held about 3/4 of a gallon of water and barely flowed when I filled it and pulled a rubber ball plug out...

    Spring time overheating

Installed the Brassworks radiator last night and had a few issues. The hood is a little out of line, slightly twisted. Also the radiator inlet and water outlet are not lined up and the temp probe pipe won't fit between them. Turns out I have a 30/31 outlet on my 29 Roadster Pickup, no idea...

    Spark advance range

Last year the temperature was never an issue, the Motometer would usually read in the bottom third of the scale, but I know these are not terribly accurate. The Rex-A-Co was reading very close to the temp that was shown on the laser pyrometer at the upper hose neck. The radiator is a flat tube...

    Spark advance range

Retimed to zero with lever up and that gave close to 28 with the lever down, ran much better. Rex a co gauge is reading about 195 but not boiling over anymore. What is normal operating temperature at the radiator neck?

    Spark advance range

Still trying to figure out my overheating issue, checking timing since my mechanic put a rebuilt distributor in this winter. Last year I set up timing marks as per FS ignitions method. So after using a timing light today, it looks like up on the lever is equal to 28 degrees retarded and full...
