    Total Advance---or Retard?

Regarding the comment about having 40 degrees crankshaft advance available with the spark advance lever full down. Staighten me out here. If the timing is set by Les Andrews book, when the spark advance lever is brought down from the full retard (up) the points don't open until about 20% of...

    Gas fumes from Carbuertor

Do you have the flame arrester installed in the fuel filler port? I had mine removed and had considerably more fuel fumes in the garage. Replaced the flame arrester and saw much improvement.

    Steering Wheel Orientation on Column

I've read that the correct orientation of the steering wheel on the steering column is with the spokes of the steering wheel forming an X pattern while the car is traveling straight forward, which allows a good view of the speedometer. My 30 Coupe is not that way. My steering wheel spokes take...

Question - Installing Front Shocks - 30 Coupe

I'm installing shocks rebuilt by a professional rebuider about 3 years ago and they've been sitting on the shelf since then. I'm now installing them and according to Les Andrews book "Model A Ford Mechanics Handbook" (Page 1-256) he says that after mounting the shock unit to the frame and the...
