    1951 shoebox a chevrolet guys 1st Ford

Head on over to the HAMB (jalopyjournal.com) and you'll get some answers. Most here on Fordbarn with a '51 Ford will be running a flathead or keeping their hood closed :D

Need help planning a site-seeing trip to Detroit

Check out the Michigan Theater, it's a huge, ornate theater that was turned into a parking garage. Talk to the security person, he'll charge you $10 to wander around. It probably goes straight in his pocket but it's worth it, it's a very cool experience. Parks and Rec is a tiny, cool diner...

Fan to radiator clearance issue, any thoughts?

55cj5 thanks for taking the time to measure and shoot the pics. I don't have nearly that much space between the fan and rad (4 blade fan). I'll post some pics when I get to a real computer, but it looks like the rad core itself is actually crooked, it's out by 1/2" + or - from top to bottom...

Fan to radiator clearance issue, any thoughts?

Well I'm a bit frustrated. Just spent a small fortune getting my stock rad recored, managed to get it back in the car (1931 Model A coupe, stock drivetrain) without too much drama. It's a tight fit, but I had about 3/8"-1/2" clearance between the fan and rad. Turned it by hand and everything...

    Smell in car during driving

He sold the car. That must've been some smell. I think some folks should stick to modern cars.

    New to me 1931 Coupe

That's easy... this is the only one that's on the road :D and it's actually why I bought it. The '51 has been a long term project and had been stuck in paint shop jail for over a year. The '41 is waiting for its flathead to return from a rebuild, and has other work to be done. Those are also...

    Non-removal leaf spring lubricant?

Penephite is a combination penetrating oil and graphite lubricant. Great stuff.

    New to me 1931 Coupe

Hey gents, I'm moving back through time i 10 year increments. I've got a '51 Ford sedan, a '41 Ford business coupe and I just got this nice '31 coupe. It's not original—in the early 1960's the roof was filled, it got a coat of black lacquer (with a brush from the looks of it), the wheels...

    16" Radial size recommendations

I've got Bridgestone Ecopia EP02 black walls, 195/80R16 on '35 wires and they look good and ride well. I'm a die-hard bias ply guy, but I might leave them on.. Previous owner had them on the car when I bought it, they're about 3 years old, no problems. They do say "for electric vehicles only"...

'51 passenger car hood hinges, advice?

With this car, it's probably a good thing I work in the garage by myself. I've increased my vocabulary so much I'm now inventing entire new languages. :D

'51 passenger car hood hinges, advice?

Thanks for the info gents. I'm going to order new shoulder bolts and springs from Macs and replace everything I can. The entire front end was off the car so I'll measure everything to see if I can determine if something other than the hood is off kilter too (seems pretty likely).

Ideas for Replacement Interior 48 Ford sedan

Early to mid-60s T-bird, Galaxie, early Mustang would be a good place to start IMO for fold-down buckets that look good, not too modern. A console is a good idea or the seats look too small. Early '60s Comet consoles look good, but are expensive and hard to find.
