What's the best way to determine if a 3 speed has overdrive ? the R10 stamp on the case or another way ?
Thanks again for all the help. I'm taking notes and looking for a 52/53 parts car.
Thanks for the replies everyone.
Sid- my Dad's Victoria has a stock 239 flathead. I agree about the column shift, I'd much rather make it a floor shift, but he prefers it on the column.
I'll look into finding a donor car- would be a bonus to get all the needed parts at once including the rear...
My Dad has a 53 Victoria Fordmatic that is, in short, absolutely no fun to drive. He's always wished it was a 3 speed column shift. I know this is a 54 & newer forum but I'm thinking I may be best off with a more modern 3 speed than a 49-53.
Please tell me what year 3 speed with OD will be...

A brass brake line connector is mounted on the rear axle of our 53 Victoria by a threaded hollow stud that also acts as a vent for the rear axle.
Anyone know a source for this vent tube/brake line connector mount ? Or how to make something else work if the same part isn't available ?
I've...

We switched to 12v in our 53 Victoria. The only gauge that's working is the ammeter. I put Runtz reducers on the fuel & temp gauges and they're still not working at all. They're pegged, fuel all the way on Full and temp pegged at Hot.
I don't know how easy it is to fry the 6v gauges by running...
Please clarify this information
