50 Mercury with removable door post???

I was going thru years of envelopes of saved automotive clippings today and found one ad that said, "50 Mercury with removable post, 1 of 57". Nothing more about it being a custom Merc so I wondered it was some factory special. I'd forgotten the clipping and have never heard of a car like this...

    Fog Horn

Thanks I've tried hooking up it up as you suggest but I don't even get a click. It was in his garage for who-knows-how-many-years so I suppose that moisture and corrosion could have set it. I'm reluctant to try to take it apart myself.

UPDATE......I added a gallon of water (not sure what ratio it is now, but closer to 5 water to 1 molasses) and put some of the parts back in. I've also rinsed them off every day for the last3 days and it appears that the mix is working better now. There is no crusty stuff hanging on the the...

Molasses dip came out crusty, need advice

Hi Recently I mixed a small batch of cattle-feed molasses with 3 parts of water and dunked some small parts. I left them in there for a month or so and they came out great, looked like new parts and could see the part number. With that success I mixed up a larger batch and put in a rubbermaid...

    35,36 pickups

Decades old project. Traded a low mileage one owner 37 Chevy even-up sight unseen for this pickup because I thought it would make a better hot rod. Moved away from home, got married, had children, went to bonneville with my son in 2005 and decided to start working on the pickup. Other projects...
