    3-28-13

Sorry for the loss of someone so close to you, John. I know that the bond we share with a grandparent can be sometimes be just as tight as that we share with a parent. Best wishes to you and yours. Beverly

    28 roadster title

Don't really have any ideas on the research aspects, but do know that different states DMV handle the vehicle id differently. My dmv required the frame number and totally ignored the engine number.

Clutch pedal doesn't return to top position

Thx again Tom for looking at my pix and giving me an answer so quick. I'll get a spring on order tomorrow.

Clutch pedal doesn't return to top position

Thx Tom. Removed cover and saw spring you described. It is hooked next to zerk fitting, but is not loose on either end. (pix attached) The pix is taken showing spring when pedal is at rest but still 2 - 3 inches low. The spring appears to still be open quite a bit. I can push the pedal...

Clutch pedal doesn't return to top position

When I depress & release the clutch pedal, it doesn't return to the same height as the brake pedal. It's about 2 1/5 inches lower with no tension on it (pix attached). I can easily pull the pedal up into position so I know it's not binding on anythng. As far as I remember it shifted okay the...

    Site brightness question

Craig, Think Benson is on right track - it sounds like you may have a "high contrast white setting". Try changing to windows classic setting.

Removing body vs. not removing the body...

Bought a 28 with clear title and registration. The owner did not know the history of the car - it had belonged to his father. I had to lift the frame to show frame number to DMV when I tried to get the title transferred. The frame was rusted/corroded/pitted and with sanding was still only...

    Is #2 exhaust port toast?

Thx for taking a look at my pix of the exhaust ports. Your answers really reduced my stress level. Was afraid I'd have to spend paint money on engine work. As for the carbon, plan to work that next. Found the GAV wouldn't rotate - was stuck at seat in carburator. Took carb apart and cleaned...

    Is #2 exhaust port toast?

Thx Jim, that was the problem. I was getting a "missing security token" and that threw me off.

    Is #2 exhaust port toast?

Just bought a new exhaust manifold to replace a cracked exhaust. Old one in bad shape, looks like it’s been welded at the crack - pix attached. There’s lots of soot/carbon in and around the exhaust ports, too. Looking in #2 exhaust port I can see what looks like a piece broken off - pix...
