I will be having my parking brake handle re-plated by a shop near me in Omaha and have a couple of questions.
Where does the dividing line between the upper chrome finish and the lower butler finish lay?
Does the grain of the butler finish go around the lever, not lengthwise?
I am looking for an original horn that would be correct for a friends 31 pickup truck.
Please let me know if you have one your would be willing to sell.
Thanks,
Dave
The inspection cover plate can be a challenge to install even with the engine flipped upside down. The plate often contacts the pan gasket making it difficult to line up the holes for the bolts plus its pretty tight quarters between the pan and the flywheel housing. One thing you can do is to...
Nathan -if you have a 50/50 mixture of coolant and distilled water you do not need to do anything except to use a squeeze bulb type tester to make sure the freeze protection is at -34 degrees.
If you are not using the 50/50 mix I would suggest flushing it out with water and then putting in a...
I have a Model B engine that has been refreshed and just needs to be assembled to be a good running engine. A fellow club member is interested in the engine and I was hoping that someone would be able to reach out to give me some guidance as to where I should be with pricing it.

I had an experience with the truck...
I have a gentleman that has an early car with the solid front cross member that is most likely going to need to have his timing gear replaced.
To clear the cross member it looks like the engine will need to be tilted up a fair bit more than needed on cars with the later style cross member.
Will...
Werner,
Your running Avgas 102 concerns me. Am I correct in that the octane level of that fuel is indeed 102?
High octane fuel is in my understanding is formulated to be more difficult to ignite than the lower octane fuels preventing the fuel from igniting before the spark actually takes place...
If you would have two distributors and assuming the one you have in it now is timed correctly you can remove it and set it aside.
Install the second distributor, time it to the engine and drive it for a thousand miles. After that you can remove it and reinstall the first one and it will still...
Place a dial type meat thermometer directly into the water and hold a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator. Set the hand throttle to a quick idle and watch the thermometer like a hawk. Bring the temperature up to 190 and adjust the cardboard to hold the temperature there for a few minutes...
