    RUMORED; NAPA buyout offer???

There’s a fairly in-depth story in Bloomberg’s right now on the subject. The key reason Genuine Parts Group is even looking at ANYTHING is because they want to differentiate their Motion business from the NAPA business. Motion is more industrial and HD truck business. When I was with NTN...

    Holley 94 accelerator pump issue

Ain’t nothing wrong with Price’s blue pump plunger. I’ve got one in my Edelbrock 94 that I just freshened up a couple of months ago. That entire pump well and linkage design is “interesting”….. and we’ll leave that at that. Not how I picture an ideal design though. Crack kills, comes to mind. I...

    Navarro 8ba Heads

I’ve got a set on my F-1. H&H put them on when I got the engine done around Covid-time. I’ve got Autolite in my Navarros. NOTHING is stock on the engine, ignition-wise. Has modded GM distributor, magnetic p/u coil, solid state ignition, etc. No issues with plug fouling or carbon buildup...

    Wheel bearing grease recommendation?

The Timken grease is the preferred stuff currently. And affordable. The only stuff that beats that is made by Klüber. And is not inexpensive by any measure.

    Holley 94

I just went through mine again recently. It is an Edelbrock 94 that I bought new under 10 years ago. What passes for “gasoline” out here is a travesty and I think that and not enjoying at least running it once a week contributes to having issues. As previously mentioned, it is easy to use the...

Autolite, Cardone, & Brake Parts are being shut down

Wow. Just can’t post this. Rest assured. It’s bad. One of my best friends worked for First Brands up to about 4-5 months ago in sales.

    ‘48 Ford F1 Camber

Re: ‘48 Ford F1 Camber The axle will have an angle called king pin inclination (KPI) built into the king pin bosses when viewed from the front. KPI along with the angle built into the spindles determines camber. So….. you’d have to compare the factory KPI and know the camber of whatever spindle...

    Gas tank inquiry

I used the POR15 sealer on one about 4 years ago. No issues yet, even with the stuff that they call gas out here in California. I think Absolute Coatings makes the POR15 tank sealer kit contents.

    Dual Point Distributor Plate 1949-51

Dual points improve coil saturation at high rpm. A flathead operates at what rpm?

    Adjustable lifter issue

We used green at a place I worked in the early nineties. Basically “gluing” a bronze bushing sleeve in place. After that stuff set, that bushing wasn’t moving for love or money…..
