Piston question

OK then the set you want to use will only require you to replace the 2 orphan pistons you have.(they are 59a pistons)the remaining 6 pistons are 8ba. Someone here will have good used pistons for you.The ring set you need is a Hastings 533 set. This is still in production phone them and buy the set. Don't do this until you have the replacement pistons in your hand to confirm you then have a complete set.Don't buy "nos"rings as the technology today in rings is light years ahead of the old "nos" sets.
I hope this info helps you get that flat motor back together.

Very much so my friend.

PS. So the Hastings 533 has the two compressions and two oil rings for a standard piston? Just want to be clear before ordering. When Goggling them, I don't see an option for size.

You guys are awesome!! Many thanks!!!

Hi Darol, correct on the ring number, for a stock or standard replacement piston!

The top 2 comp rings are 3/32" and the 2 oil rings are 3/16".

Thanks, Gary in N.Y.

P.S. Here's a shot of some pistons along with the 533 Hastings! These are some very popular items today.

Scroll down to 533 when ordering state standard as size.

Thanks for the charts. Good to have for the future!

Shiny new pretty pistons. Next motor I'll be going down that road.

So I found the rings that seem to be going for the low to mid $90. Is that about right out there?

Thanks again!
