Head question

I now own 2 flathead engines. The one in my 48 sedan has the left head that is stamped 59AB, and the right is a 59A. Is this normal? are they both the same basically. My other flathead has one head stamped EAB, the other is blank, just the Ford emblem stamped at the bottom of the head. I'm assuming the engines were rebuilt at one time, and the builder just used 2 known good heads, is that a safe assumption?

Probably a very safe assumption given that flatheads went out of production 60 years ago, give or take. To get what would probably be a better answer you should post on the Early V8 forum, this is the Late V8 forum.
