Without all the details, I will post if ya like, I purchased a 28-29 HD replacement radiator for my driver. Its the one that goes for 585. at the vendors. American made brass and copper(not as heavy gage as original). Fits like a glove, and does what its supposed to do. I cleaned my engine as best I could with back flushing ect., before installing. The picture is of greasy crud and rust from my block. Have a good one

I picked up a Caterpillar coolant filter. It's a cup shaped fine brass screen and fits in the top hose. Costs about $7.

I don't know where I put the box, so I'll have to wait for a return phone call to see if my friend knows the number of the part.

Here's a picture of the brass screen. The outside of the lip is 2", so it butts against the radiator inlet. Until no more junk is caught in the filter I will run this 2" black rubber wye in place of the top hose. The rust will settle into the easily removed cap.

Seems as though I have seen that type of screen in stainless steel in different sizes used as Sink Drain Strainers. I have couple in my kitchen sinks and one in the bath tubs. Think came from Lowes or Home Depot? Will look around some.
