Paint Formulas

I have narrowed my exterior paint choices on my 1930 CCPU restoration project to maroon or blue.
I am looking for the paint formula(s) for the Ford Maroon, but on the light color side. If you have, could you include a picture of the vehicle painted with the maroon formula.
The same applies to the blue color, in a medium to light blue. I am looking for the paint formula(s) for the blues. If you have, could you include a picture of the vehicle painted with the blue formula.
Thanks.

Go to your PPG dealer and ask for Ford Maroon in Concept. If he does not have it he can get it from the PPG computer.
I am assuming you are asking for Lombard blue and if you look at the cover of the July August issue of the Model A News you will see a tudor with Lombard blue and Hessian blue wheels and stripe,

A light Ford maroon? I always knew the Ford Maroon to be a real dark color.

I just painted my car Ford maroon a few weeks ago. The paint and finish guide list both a Ford Maroon and Ford Maroon Medium in the chips but I only see ford maroon referenced in the color tables.

Anyway I used PPG code 1011 in BC/CC. I have not been to enough shows with model A's to tell you whether the color I got was a dead match or not. Seams a little on the light side to me but its an interesting color. It shows very different in various lights. I included some examples below. In my garage with florescent light I have to explain to people that its maroon and not black. In the shade its perfect and is nice and dark maroon. In direct sun the maroon takes on some brown tones and lightens alot. I do have some original lacquer on a few interior pieces that were behind upholstery and the original appears much darker but I don't believe they capture the original color either since they were never polished and have only a light coat.

I think camera settings hurt this one too.

Pay no attention to all the polish in the seems. Still a work in progress.

Hope this helps.
