What color should the dashboard be on a 1940 Deluxe Convertible? Should it be woodgrained or painted? What color if painted? What was the last year for woodgrain? Thanks in advance!

Correct color for 1940 DeLuxe Dash is Monaida Maroon and Rose Metallic Sand. It is not woodgrained. It is painted. The V-8 Times 1940 Ford Restoration Book says that the 1977 Cadillac color Madeira Maroon (#79) is equivilent to Monaida Maroon. Also check:

Hey GZ, 19Fordy nailed it.
I actually started with a Ford truck color from 1988 for the metallic sand. it took some effort but I managed to duplicate the color dead on from a mint glove box I had.
