Growler instructions...

Just purchased a 'like new' swapmeet growler for checking starter/gen(?) armatures. Came from a high school auto shop storage. Hmm, unfortunately no instruction sheet on useage. It's a SUN. Is there a source of written instructions(copy)that can be had?

A growler can also be used for crack detection, before I got the real powder I used brake lathe shavings from .001,.002 cuts

SET Armature in V turn power on use 6 to 8 in hack saw blade or ..030 to ..050 feeler stock hold over arm parallel to shaft close but not touching --- rotate shorted winding will pull blade down to armature and vibrate. works for me for last 60 + yrs ernie n tx
