Any interest in value

Does a 68 Torino fastback have any interesting value? Don't ever see one, just wondering if there's in outside interest in them.

Don't know how acurate this chart is, but this is
Hagerty Insurance's

Lanny thanks for the link, a friend here in N. Louisiana has one he gave $194. For it 35 yrs. Ago. Crazy price I know!! He's had it all this time. Don't know a lot about it, I seen it far off. He says it's a Fairlane, 289. I did not think they were called Fairlanes and were pretty sure they had 302's in them. I didn't differ with him on the engine but I think I am correct. Also it is a Torino not Fairlane I would bet on the name. Red, and automatic, hope it has A.C.. It's not running now, needs freeze plugs. I hope it hasn't been cold enough here in N. Louisiana to have hurt it. I went to school with him a 100 yrs. Ago I hope he will sell cheap being as he gave such a ridiculously low price for it.

You had Tornios and Fairlanes share the same body. So it could be a Fairlane. Same body different trim level. Similar to the Australian Falcon Coupes. The Landau was the same body but a different trim level.

I think the Fast Backs will start to be come popular more than the formal roof versions.

Had a freind buy a 68 Brand New, with a new engine called a 428. Wishes he had it now!

Ken 1939 I need to look closer at the car to tell which it is then. I didn't know they still had Fairlanes then in 68. Which was the upper level? Could it have the 289? That's what he told me about it. Do you have a link to production break-down #'s. Thanks for reply

I bought my 69 Torino GT fastback 5,1/2 years ago for $3500.00. It was 90% complete. I replaced the floor pans and need to spot in about 6 inches on the lower right quarter. My car was originally a 351 Windsor, 4 barrel, with a FMX 3 speed automatic on the column. The engine had been changed to a 72, 351 Cleveland with a. 2 barrel carb. I found and installed an Offenhauser 4 barrel intake that was made to work with the 2 barrel cylinder heads. This car had sat for 8 years in a basement garage with a dirt floor. I have replaced all fuel lines, brake lines and transmission lines. The car has power disc brakes on the front and I have replaced the calipers, pads, rotors and brake hoses. On the rear drum brakes, I have replaced everything except for the backing plates and brake drums. I could list everything I have replaced, but that would take forever. Future plans call for some body work, panel alignment and a repaint. I have been to a lot of car shows and very seldom see any 68 or 69 Torinos. They did not survive well.

Robert, some early Torinos did have a 289 engine. I have a friend who has an early production Torino all original with 289.

I read that somewhere. Apparently there was a strike in '68 at one of the plants, so to keep up with production the leftover 289s were installed instead of the new 302s.
