Michigan license plates color

Try this http://www.worldlicenseplates.com/. After you are at the site click "Michigan". When you get to Michigan click "Plate History". This will give you a first cut. It would sure be nice if you could find a color chart instead of the computer, any old plates around? You risk a lot when you depend on the color balance of the camera and then your computer.

I have a plate refinisher near Detroit that finishes plates for me and he does a great job. I can provide his name if you want.

Michigan is ok with restored plates as long as they are the original color. A few years ago they started requiring a color copy of the plate you wanted to register as they caught on that a lot of people (street rodders) were painting their plates to match their vehicle colors.
 
In 2008 Mass did not allow repainted plates ... might be others.

In Mass your YOM license plates CANNOT be repainted OR restored.
Maybe other states are this way also. Just in case you did not know this!!
