Radiator Support Rods

My brother put in a new radiator from Snyders and when installing it he found the rods were too short. Has anyone else had this problem? His is a 1930 but has the 29 cab. I heard the late 29's were titled as 1930's. Anyway, is there a difference in length between 28-29 and 30-31 radiator support rods?

I believe 29 through 31 radiator support rods are all the same. 1928 rods were different in that they had a tube over the rod, however I believe that all the rods were the same length. Maybe the repro radiator part that the rods attach to was installed in the wrong position. If you have an original radiator, you might look at it and compare it to the repro radiator.

my catalog shows no difference, and it would help you a lot if you would get yourself several Model A catalogs, then you could find a lot of that info for your self, not being nasty, just making a sugesstion

Are you sure the upper radiator hose is the right length and the radiator is sitting vertical? If the hose is too long or is not slipped on the correct amount at each end, it will cause radiator to lean forward and rods will appear to be too short.

And even if you don't get all those catalogues, judging standards, etcetera you feel free to come back here and ask because that is what this site is all about !
