Speaker size for 49

A standard 69 fits in a 49 F1 .

I used to have a '49 woodie. I knew the dashes were different than the other shoeboxes, but I didn't know about the differences in the speaker.

If I were you, I'd post over on the shoebox Ford sites--see if those guys can help...slim

Most mid century FoMoCo models were 6 X 9 types but many had a powered coil since there wasn't much room left in the dash for a big magnet. There are some replacements being manufactured with very low profile magnets that will work.

What type of 49 is it? I bought a 6x9 from the junkyard out of a newer impala and it bolted right into my F1.
