replacement fan is identical to original and will works as well.
I did not replace water pump but bought a rebuild kit stainless
steel shaft and have no change in operating tempertures.

Bought Mike's leak less pump and fan. Had them prefit because the first pump shaft had been miss drilled.

Can replace fan without pulling radiator.

Just replaced my pump with a leak less and no grease from Snyder's along with their one piece two blade aluminum fan. No leaks. Fan looks great but it doesn't cool as well at idle like the four blade I replaced.

I recommend you install the collar with an allan set screw and a nylon washer on the front of the waterpump to lock the shaft. It will be hidden under the new aluminum fan. out of sight of any nit picker.

I wouldn't think there is much heat to get rid of at idle.
Some guys retard the spark for a slow idle and this will produce excess heat.
With a stock head I would have the spark lever half down at idle, which is 20*.

I replaced my pump and fan last year. No issues other than I had to grind a little on the nose of the replacement pump as the fan was rubbing on it.
