1957 Ford-o-matic

Does anyone know if the valve body is the same in a water cooled '57 ford-o-matic and an air cooled ford-o-matic? I don't know what year the air cooled one is. Question goes for the main valve body and the smaller pressure regulator/converter valve body.

My parts book shows the same part number for the main body of a 56 & 57, another number for 55 and another number for 51 to 54.

are all the 56 ford-o-matics air cooled and the 57s water cooled? and are the numbers the same for the converter / main regulator valve body?

The book shows that 56 and 57 are water cooled but my 56 and others have said their transmissions are air cooled. The convertors have the same number from 54 to 57.
I'm not sure what pump you're asking about.

not really asking about a pump, what I was asking about is if the valve bodys were the same from an air cooled and a water cooled ford-o-matic. You know, the main valve body and the smaller one that is just the converter pressure regulator and the main pressure regulator (i think).

You can investigate further here: http://fordpartswiki.com/browse

I have a pdf version on my computer at home as well as the original printed manuals which I have been using to research your questions. I think you may find what you need in the link.
