No Power

After a valve job and verifying that the timing gears were correctly installed, my A ran, but had no power. The trouble had to be with the carburetor since the ignition system had been renewed. I had previously rebuilt the carburetor
but I tore it down for a further check. I have another carb from a low mileage car that has never been rebuilt so I compared their innards side by side and
found that I had mixed up the GAV seat and the other, similar jet, then I noticed the well tube was missing.
After installing the well tube from a third carb, the engine runs fine and is very peppy!
When I bought the A last Fall, the seller told me it ran poorly due to crappy gas. No so, he had left out a essential part!

There's an old saying among restorers of long-standing in the hobby - "It's not so much what the ravages of time have done to our Model A's, as it is what previous owners did (or didn't do!) to them!" Your experience is a case in point that once again proves this statement. :)
