Are the 38-39 Ford coupe rear fenders interchange with a 1940 coupe? I know the tail lights are different. But will the mounting holes be the same?

As I understand the fitment goes like this. 38 std is by itself, 38 Del and 38 std are alike, 39 del and 40 std and del are alike except taillight set up. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong. These will all pertain to coupes, cabriolets ,not sure if there are differences on the sedan, conv. sedans, but I think there may be regarding 38's, possibly 39 conv sedan. All 40 cars interchange.Hope this helps some !

I agree the 38 std is different. I believe the 38 deluxe, 39 std, 39 deluxe, 40 std and 40 deluxe all bolt to the body the same for coupes, conv and sedans. Sid, I think that what you were saying also.

38 std and deluxe coupe fenders are the same.
38 std sedans are a one-off.
38 deluxe sedan, 39 std coupe and sedan, 39 deluxe coupe and sedan.
Except for the tail lamp holes of course.

Thanks for the info, now I can make determination on what put out for sale.

Correct... and the 1938 Dlx Sedan/1939 Coupe/Sedan/Convertible fender fits the 1940 Coupe/Sedan/Convertible
