Getting a 29 tudor this week and the rear fenders do not have any holes for taillight mounts, original fenders, no holes. It appears the taillights mounted to the rear cross sill, is this normal??
If you have the ORIGINAL fenders for which came on yiour Tudor...then yes, the rear tail light bracket mounted to the rear body cross sill with three bolts.
This feature went into very early 1929. Standards say "through 1928 production" which means through February 1929.
My '29 Tudor was assembled, as far as I can determine, in June 1929 in Seattle, and it has the drum tail light and frame mounted bracket. Maybe in Seattle they kept making them with the drum light until supplies ran out.
Ok, just went over and gave the deposit, will be picking it up this week. One thing I noticed is the running board brackets look nothing like my 29 coupe. They are solid bar type. It also has what appears to be a red steering wheel. What other tell tale signs can distinguish this as a 28 over a 29 other than vin number?
