I'm thinking of installing the battery disconnect that mounts on the starter. I use the fuse mounted on the starter switch. Is the disconnect necessary with the fuse?
I'm not actually looking at mine right now since I'm in the house not the shop, but if I recall correctly the bracket attaches to a flywheel housing bolt underneath the starter. The switch is under the steering tube and next to the steering gear housing. Easy to get at, though not as easy as the ones that are mounted so the handle comes through the floorboard or the seat frame. I think in an emergency it might be tough to get at a switch mounted on the battery very quickly. Maybe not.I have my disconnect mounted on the battery on the + terminal and cable. Simple twist of the knob and its all done.
