New to this site, Hi everyone. To the point, I was wondering if this site frowns on modifying these old cars. Is this a "stocker only" forum? I don't want to step on anyone's toes. Dino

Welcome,

This forum is predominantly about restoration and preservation. With some side roads. Running them as you found them, fixing them up or outright fine points restoration. Some of us have Speedsters, and there are some owners with some deviation, such as Carbs, or overdrive, but we do not cut up vintage tin. Chopping, channeling, hot rods, dropping in a 350 with a turbo400 ****** will generally be frowned upon by the typical member here.

mostly stock, but some mods are fine, hi compression heads ,dual carbs, down draft manifolds, where the guys get grouchy is when chev y engines are put in the model a, and welcome good guys, and a lot of knowlege for the A

Welcome Dino, I for one have a 1929 2-Dr. (stock) and a 1929 Closed Cab Pick Up (CCPU) that I am going to Old School Hot Rod 40's, 50's style. Stock on the outside. Speed Parts that were available "Back IN The Day" on the mechanical s. Good luck on your build. You will get a lot of help here.

Hi Dino, I just started restoring a 30 Cabriolet that my Grandpa bought in the earrly 50's. I have done quite a bit of work on autos in the past but nothing older that the 70s until now. So I a at a loss quite often. I have already gotten a allot of great information on this site. The guys here are great, even when I have asked questions i probably should not have to ask, not one person has made me feel dumb or out of bounds for asking questions. You can get on anything from simple solutions for drivers to how to do it exacatly right for fine point car. You get all the suggestions and pick what you think is best for your build.

Hi Dino. My Tudor looks stock but engine is modified inside and I have the F150 trans. Most can't tell it's not all original. Others here are experts on originality. Enjoy! Ron W

You will find a whole lot of people here that frown on modifications. That does not mean that the subject does not come up. More often then not the poster with be advised that there is a sister site HAMB that deals with modifications.

As you get more and more into this hobby you will find there are many many sites for modifications but you can count the number that have restoration as a primary goal on one hand with fingers left over.

My advise is post what you want and the moderator will let you know if you have crossed the line.

You will get some push back if you get too crazy, but keeping them "bone" stock is hard to do and drive them a lot. My sedan, while looking pretty original, has many "refinements" that make it dependable and comfortable on longer tours. This car has driven several long distance tours and is a pleasure to drive. It has A/C for one thing and overdrive to keep up on the highway. Send me a PM if you would like additional info.
