Bell-housing question

I have an unidentified bell-housing with the casting # AJ 6394 C.What does this belong to ?.........thanks,John in CT

I have been searching the internet and have found out that it is a Ford bellhousing for a car, between 1954 to 1962....looking back I remember that it came with a pressure plate, flywheel, clutch disk, clutch release lever and a 3 speed overdrive ******.
I do have it all in my cellar..I want to identify this bellhousing so that I can tag it in case of future resale.
I have the dealer parts catalog on CD for 1949-1959 and there is no bellhousing with the number set of "AJ 6394 C....so I presume it is from 1960-62 ?

It's definitely 239-312 Y-block Ford. I have two with the same casting numbers that came off late '50s 292s. :)

V8 Bob , What 4 or 5 speed standard trans. will bolt up to this y-block bell housing? I'm thinking of up grading my 56 3 speed . Bill in AZ.

V8 BOB....some one else said they thought it was for the 6 cyl engine...is this also possible ?they thought that the housing to engine bolt holes were too close together to fit a Y block...that distance on this bell-housing is 7 5/8 " thanks for all opinions....John in CT

Any narrow pattern B/W or Ford top loader '61-'64 and most latter multi-pattern 4-speeds will bolt to the Y bell; small block and big block input lengths and bearing retainer fit would be the only concerns. Adapters are available to use Mustang T-5s and others.

An aluminum adapter will bolt to that bell housing, a T 5 or T 3550 or T500 will bolt to the plate. They are available from John Mummert.

As stated earlier....here....and over on the HAMB (in one of your two posts), I removed two (2) bell housings exactly like yours from 292 V8s.
