Distributor problems.

I rebuilt the engine in my 1949 ford truck. I installed the engine and now it isn't getting fire. It is getting fire from the coil to the distributor. I removed the distributor cap and the rotor, but I do not see the points or the condenser. The spark plugs were getting fire before I rebuilt the engine. Any advice would be appreciated.

You didn't say but it looks like a 6 cyl. engine.
If so, it would require a Pertronix (1261) kit.
BUT you also didn't say if it was a 12 volt system. The Pertronix (1261)
requires a 12 volt system and will not work on 6 volts.
Not sure if they make one for 6 volts.

It is getting fire from the coil to the distributor.
You don't say which wire from the coil is providing "fire".

IF it is getting fire through the high tension wire from the center of the coil to the distributor cap, the electronic unit is working and you have a distribution problem in the cap, rotor, plug wires, etc.

I checked the wire going from the center of the coil to the center of the distributor cap with a timing light and it is getting fire there.

Do all the plug wire have juice as well?

If so, maybe the distributor was not installed properly, or wire not routed correctly?

Another Barner just went through this a few days back and the distributor was 180 out (V8 though)
