Carb Fuel inlet

Guys, I'm putting an auxiliary Gas Tank on my 29CCPU, and I don't want to chop off the original fuel line, just unscrew it to save the line and sediment bowl for possible future use.
Can anyone tell me the size of the screw fitting for the fuel inlet on a Zenith carb, so I can just mount the new line directly to the carb?
I have a low pressure 6V pump, and a fuel pressure reducer to take it down to 1- 1.5 P.S.I. inlet pressure.

This won't answer your question, but are you adding capacity or just moving the location?

Moving the location, since the cowl tank is full of rust and crap. Eventually I might get the tank removed, RENUed, and replaced, but that will involve repainting the outside of the tank. Does the 29 tank have the welting that needs to be redone when replacing the tank?
I'm putting a 12 gallon poly tank in the bed of the truck, enclosed in a wooden box with a marine filler and vent system, not unlike the basic idea of a Rootlieb Speedster.

I was going to suggest that if you were just adding capacity, that you "pump" gas from the second tank into the original tank on an "as needed" basis. That wouldn't work for you in this case.

If I were doing it, I'd just order a fuel line from one of the vendors and then either cut it or the original and feed it with flexible fuel line and a hose clamp available from NAPA or wherever.

Actually, I took it off and it uses a compression fitting. I'm now thinking that I will cut the original line and flare it for a tight fit inside a 1/4 in rubber fuel line. If I want to go back to the stock tank sometime, a new line is like $4 from Mike's in Georgia!
Not that big of an expense.:)

Test the 1/4" flexible fuel line on the piece you cut off. You shouldn't have to flare it at all, it's a pretty nice fit just like it is. Just use a small clamp around the hose, that should do it.
