1955 vs 1956 Ford vent window

I have vent windows from a 55 4 door wagon. Will they interchange with other models of 55, and 56? People have asked me, but i simply dont know.

To answer your original question, the vent windows are all interchangeable, though the 55 may have the little chrome shield above the window, which the 56 doesn't . It is not a problem though because the shields can be swapped over just by drilling out rivets and replacing. All the frames are the same. Of course Victorias and Convertibles are different, though they are interchangeable between years also.
I have just gone through a set of vent windows for my 55. I thought it was interesting that the Ford manual states that you can change the glass without removing the frames from the car. Pretty obvious, though for us now, if the glass is shot the seals probably are too.
 
Rick, the info is appreciated as always. I had zeroed in on the top shield as a differing point (not necessarily the only one), but couldnt find good pictures to confirm. What is the shield's purpose, rain control?
 
It was probably for rain, bu it was just a bit of extra unnecessary fluff and was dropped in 56.
 
Vent windows are interchangeable between all 55 and 56 sedan models & wagons. The window glass and frame will also fit the 55 Victoria 2-dr Hardtop,convertible and the more rare 4-door hardtop.
The 55 and 56 Crown Vic are not interchangeable with the sedan models.
Same rules above apply to windshield interchangeability.
