Sport coupe to steel roof.

I am thinking about converting my 30 Sport coupe to a steel roof.
When I find a donor roof what is the best way to accomplish this?
Should I butt weld it at the belt line?
It will be a driver when I am done.
Anyone have any pictures or advice? Also want to buy roof pieces necessary for the conversion or complete quarters.

My advice would be to find a coupe body. They are more common than sports coupes. Maybe you can find someone who would trade. Patching on an upper body seems like a bunch of work.

Sport coupes are nicer and more valuable in my opinion. Just trade it off, don't mess up a sport coupe body.

If I could find a bare roadster body or 5 window coupe body I would trade. The sport coupe is pretty much rust free.

Yes, find a coupe body, much easier then patching parts together to make something "like a coupe".
