56 ford car headlight switch

Quick question, how do you get the pull knob out of the headlight switch. all my later fords have a little button on the switch you push in and pull the shaft/knob out of the switch, I can not feel any button, or place for a button on this switch, and my ( fat A## ) don't fit under the dash far enough to see the switch.

Your correct, there is a button on the switch and no I don't think you will be able to see it. It is on top of the switch.

Here's a photo of oe from ebay.

Whoa!!! That's A BIG one!!!

you guy's crack me up. :D
Thanks for the help, now let me squeeze back in there and find it.
Somewhere in time somebody broke the ignition switch, made contact with the dash, and it has melted the main power wire from the headlight switch to the ignition switch. It will be way easier to drop the switch down to replace the bad wire, when I put the new ignition switch in it.

Anybody have the ignition switch bazel for the hole in the dash they want to let go of.
Also anybody have a car there stripping, I will need other parts, just haven't done inventory yet.
Thanks. Ken.

The bezel may be reproduced - check with the parts houses.

I am sure I have a spare locking nut for the ignition switch if you need it. I may have the chrome bezel as well but I am a long way from you. Probably 12 - 14 time zones (West Oz)

One way to help in your parts search is to post your location in your profile, that way we may be able to post sources close to you.

I may have one NOS. what does the correct bezel look like and I will dig through my box of switches and see if I have one. Rod
