Early 29 Tudor and title question?

Ok. Dumb this down for me, and understand that my ignorance comes from living in a no title state. The title would have a VIN number on it. The VIN number would not match either the frame number or engine number. So one would have to alter the VIN on the car to fit the title, which is illegal in all 50 States. plus you run the risk of the title being on the "market" because the original car was stolen or the VIN currently in use somewhere, and the title is a duplicate or forgery, and if it pops up in the computer, you loose your car.

If I understand this "process" right you would feel like a damn fool if you change you VIN to match a title to a stolen car and the Police show up at your door.

This can all leave a guy....or gal scratching their head, especially the way it reads in your post.
Understand that in no way is this reply being disrespectful to you or anyone else or am I being a wise guy, I'm only thinking of the different degrees of separation or what ever term one might use.
When it comes to the whole "Model A" thing, it seems there are many or at least a few ways to look at it.
First off being, the guy that has the original car and has put hours of time in searching correct parts and making the car what it one was and the car being judged at shows or by his fellow restorers......in that case I would believe all would have to match.
Secondly, the next level of a guy building a car (hot rod if I dare say it) has more value if he chooses to sell that car and if it's a 1930 five window, the title says it is also.
Third, I think some guys that own a model A just want a model a title and if the car is a 28, do they mind if the title reads 29.....I don't know??
Last but not least, sadly there are a lot of cars, trucks that seem to get hacked and whacked into who knows what. Is it better to do that then to head to the crusher and become a fork or a spoon.....I'm not sure because that style is not my style, but at that point do the titles match the bodies anymore with what they've done to it......I honestly don't know, but it could be titled as an s-10 pickup at that point in its life???
Once again I am not being a wise guy because I want the title to match something that I will drive.......I am only offering a viewpoint that has crossed my mind on all levels of this hobby....if that is what one calls it?

Mndodge, I am not sure which post you are referring to, certainly no offense was inferred by me in your comments, I tend to agree.. I am just at a loss to understand
what would motivate anyone to build a car around a title.

I should of clarified myself that I was responding to your above post, I just think in this wide world of cars.....there a lot of people and they all go about it in different ways. I agree with your last statement about building a car around a title or building one and then trying to search for a title. I know it is done everyday, but when I look for a vehicle I always search the ad or ask the owner if a title comes with.
