I have a Mallory Model S type 11A centrif. advance dist. for a Model A. Can anyone email me instruction sheet for this unit. There is no screw under the rotor and no apparent way to set initial timing.

With the mallory distributor, I use the timing pin method. When the timing pin drops in place, install the distributor with the condenser on the drivers side. You may need to rotate the distributor slightly but the tip of the rotor will usually be pointing at the drivers side rear plug wire connection, this or which ever plug wire connection the rotor tip points at will be the number one plug wire connection. Connect the spark plug wires in a counter clockwise order 1243 around the cap. The points gap is set at .022 You will need to rotate the distributor as in a modern car to fine tune the timing. I set mine by ear. Clockwise rotation retards counter clockwise advances I try to set mine as advanced as possible without starter kickback or timing knock. If the timing is too retarded throttle response will be slow and you won't have much power. It is really not hard to do. Good luck.

Jim, check your e-mail. I sent you copies of info I have for the Mallory Dual Point I run in my roadster. I can't say for sure if this is the same one. Check it out!

I made a mistake typing in my previous post and don't know how to edit. clockwise rotation advances, counter clockwise retards.
