What is this fiber washer for?

26 T carb rebuild. I got a new kit for my holly NH carb and noticed there was a fiber washer that came with the kit. When I took the carb apart, I didn't have one come out of it! Can anyone explain it for me please? Thank you

What kind of carb? Try taking it out of plastic ,so we can see it clearly.

That's a packing ring to seal the fuel line to the 90 at the carb. Longggg before flaring became the norm... ws

That packing seal is made of felt - not fiber and they work just fine.

Probably all earlier fittings had the felt seal on the fuel line. The fitting is not a part of the carburator, just screwed in it and the fuel line end gets the felt

I noticed that the kit is for a vaporizer but you mentioned you had an NH.
